 Death Warrant (1990)
IMDB rating: 4.90
Plot: In an abandoned house, detective Louis Burke confronts a maniac called the Sandman. Although the Sandman nearly kills Burke, Burke manages to stop him with a bullet. Sixteen months later, Burke joins a task force put together by the governor to investigate a series of unexplained deaths in the Harrison Penitentiary. While Burke poses as an inmate, attorney Amanda Beckett acts the role of his wife. In the penitentiary, Burke is forced to survive in an environment so dismal and filthy that it makes a public restroom in New York City look like a room in a five star hotel. Burke does succeed in befriending a few of the inmates, including Hawkins and Priest, who help him with the investigation. More inmates are mysteriously murdered. Burke’s cell-mate is killed, and prison guard DeGraff puts Burke in solitary confinement, where he’s interrogated and beaten. As if that’s not enough, the Sandman ends up at Harrison. As it turns out, the prisoners are being murdered for their body organs. Back on the outside, Beckett attends a party given by Vogler, the state’s attorney general. Just as she’s preparing to tell him about the murders at the prison, Beckett receives a call from her assistant, who identifies Vogler’s henchman Keane as the man behind the murders, which also involve Dr. Gottesman, the surgeon who harvests the organs to be sold to people who are in desperate need of them. The assistant’s suspicions are confirmed when Vogler tries to kill Beckett. Burke begins an escape from the penitentiary, pursued by the Sandman and hundreds of angry inmates who have been set free and armed with the knowledge that Burke is a cop. Burke and the Sandman have brutal showdown in which Burke tries to get the Sandman out of the way so he can go after Vogler, Keane, and Gottesman.

What's your opinion on abortion? Do you agree/disagree with this?
*EDITED – my question was do you agree with this, if not, what is your opinion?
I know no one here seems to like this subject, but I felt after reading a ton of abortion questions in the pregnancy section, that I wanted to make a point. A lot of women on here judge way too harshly in my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I don’t think it’s right for any of us to judge another women when we don’t know her situation. Most women do not enjoy going through an abortion, and are intensely upset about it, yet a lot of women on here harass them and say horrible, threatening, ****** up things to them, when all they’re doing is asking a question. Instead of answering, a lot of the women here just bash and flip out.
Another thing the women on here do is go on and on about God giving you that gift of a baby, and God this, that and the other. But not everyone believes in God, and I don’t think God has anything to do with a man and women getting pregnant. It’s nature and science. God doesn’t make everyone pregnant, if there even is a God. Why would he, knowing so many of them would just abort? Why would he make abortion a reality? So bringing religion into the whole pregnancy/abortion topic is kind of null and void, since everyone has different beliefs. And to the so called Christians who say vicious, nasty things to the women who have had abortions, if you were so Godly, you wouldn’t judge, isn’t there something in the bible that says "Judge not lest you be judged"? And realistically, if every embryo/fetus ever aborted were to have been born instead, the world would be so over populated to the point that I don’t think any of us can even comprehend. Why do you think China has that one child per couple law? And I think Social Services would be maxed out because of all the women who were in bad situation with kids who needed state assistance, so think about how many women with babies would be homeless, hungry, or worse? I really don’t understand humans sometimes.
I’m pro choice because I believe it is the woman’s choice. If we were to make it so abortion were illegal, we would essentially be taking away a woman’s right over her body, and that’s messed up. An embryo of 12 weeks or less is not a full grown baby. It does not think, it is not aware. It may have a heartbeat, but that is life and reality. An embryo or even fetus’s life does not hold precedence over a woman’s life or choice. I do NOT, however, agree with abortion past 12 weeks. I think that is sick. But there’s also a huge difference between a women having a simple procedure under 12 weeks, and a DR literally killing a baby past 24 weeks, when it could survive outside of the womb. There’s a lot of black and white involving abortion. If a women has an abortion under 6 weeks (4 actual weeks pregnant), the zygote does not even have a heartbeat yet. So how can you call that murder? And a lot of women have abortions shortly before then or right at that point. So at that point, it really is just a group of cells, a microscopic alien looking shape, with no heartbeat. And even past that, up until 8 weeks, an embryo cannot feel pain, that begins in the eighth week, so an abortion performed at 8 weeks and under is not actually causing the embryo pain (and all of this has been medically and scientifically proven). Only past the eighth week does it start to feel pain.
Another thing. Until 12 weeks, it is not medically considered a baby. It is first considered a blastocyst, then a zygote, then an embryo, and once 12 weeks hits, a fetus. But in those first 12 weeks, it really isn’t a baby. It’s the beginning of a baby. There’s no way that it could survive outside of the woman’s body at that point, or for even several month after, so it is not murder. It is not the same thing as killing a week old or 1 year old baby. Not even close, so arguing that point is just pointless. Hell, people have shot or attempted to murder pregnant women before, and they have lost their baby in the process, but in most states, unless the women is a certain number of farther months along, the person will not even get in trouble for the death of the fetus.
I understand why women choose abortion. I think a lot of situations warrant a women to have that choice. I don’t think it should be used as birth control, and I don’t think it should be legal in the 2nd and 3rd trimester, but I think some women really can’t handle it. Some women use birth control very strictly, some women are raped, some women have underlying severe health problems, sometimes something is wrong with the pregnancy or embryo, and in that situation, a woman shouldn’t HAVE to carry a pregnancy for 9 months, go through all of that, labor, EVERYTHING, just to have to raise a child or just to put the child up for adoption. Some women can’t handle that. It’s hard, and a lot harder than some of you realize. Until we have walked a mile in someone elses shoes, I don’t think any of us have the right to judge.
Right on!
You have to understand that these people who make rude comments to women considering abortion come up very short on understanding the issues involved and knowing any real facts behind pregnancy development and abortion. It’s interesting that many of them have children, yet still seem to think a 6 week embryo is a full-grown baby with thoughts and feelings. Did they not have ultrasounds until the last trimester?
My opinion on abortion is that I am glad it is available to women so they can prevent unwanted pregnancies from becoming unwanted children who face lives of neglect and abuse. I see abortion for what it is and don’t get caught up in the pro-life propaganda.

I had an abortion last feburary i was 7 weeks along, now i am pregnant again and needed an early scan at 7 weeks n saw how much it had came along n it broke my heart all over again. It is one of the hardest things to do, but how can i make someone have a baby they do not want (i.e the father) isnt that unfair to the child? to bring into the world knowing its unloved by its father and i may not of been able to give it the best outcome. This time around i am with someone new, and i’m financially stable all qualifications are done….i will always think of that other child but i felt it was the best thing to do. And yes sum ppl are too harsh about it. so they should be in sum circumstances ( i went to the clinic n there were girls with scan pictures sitting there giggling) however i believe as with most things it depends on the situation…

This is why I am 100% Pro-Mind Your Own Business. I think if these ladies have nothing productive to say, then they should say nothing. And I HATE seeing MEN comment about a women’s integrity after considering abortion. Men have NO IDEA! You’re right in that we don’t know where these people are at. I do know that tons of women every day prepare themselves for adoption and then can’t bring themselves to go through with it, even though they are not stable enough to have a baby. I saw one person asking for advice upon how to receive an abortion after a terrible rape, and the answerers totally ripped her a new one. In a rape situation! I felt awful for her…
So, like I said. I think if more people would apply the "Golden Rule" then this forum could be much more productive in getting people the help they are seeking.

I would never suggest one but if that is what is best for you go ahead! Who am I to say what you can and can do with YOUR body but chances are if your getting an abortion for reasons other than rape or health risk then you are unresponsible anyways. Even with protection I have always known when I have sex there is a slight chance that I will get pregnant. Why have unprotected sex? then whine about the consequences? why have sex and then cry b/c your pregnant! I am 19 and pregnant with my first child…never did I cry b/c I was pregnant what for? I was confused b/c you used condoms and bc but things happen! and I knew what I was getting into. Bottomline every girl I knew that got an abortion was preg. again the next yr! The same sad girls who have no self respect to grow up and take care of what they created! A woman who has an abortion is just like a dead beat father to me! That is all!
