Why were so many socialist policies in place in USA between 1932 and 1980…the height of our power?

and what do you make of our decline since a certain turn a few decades ago that put on a certain economic policy path as a nation?

Actually it was those very same socialist policies…particularly of FDR and LBJ that are bringing about the decline of our nation as we speak.

OK Boston Bruins Fans let me hear your anger.?
OK the B’s have not won a game since the Winter Classics, which I think they should of lost. Now they’ve lost 10 games in a row. WTF is wrong with this team? Last yr they were first in their division made it to the second round of the playoffs before losing to the Hurricanes. Now they can’t win a game even when they were healthy. I honestly think the team as given up. I honestly hope they do because if they don’t care why should as fans. Man now I know how it feels to be a Raiders, Chiefs, Lions, Browns, Clippers, Net, Knicks fan. I know there’s more.
Too the second person who responded. How does the Bruins losing serve me right???

They have won twice since the Winter Classic…..

How does one get into the animation field?
I want to be able to create my own cartoons eventually. I love the unique worlds such as Cowboy Bebop, or Aeon Flux… and I want to know how to get a job like that.

I graduated from art college several years ago. AAC in the bayarea. If you don’t know anyone who’s in animation field, you can try to present your idea and art work to the teachers in art school. Most of teachers in my school are not professional educator but professional artist. Such as most teachers who is teaching animation may from the big film company. Some of them fly from LA to give us class everyweek.
I thought you may start from their if you go some good stuff. But if you really got some great stuff, be careful with who you deal with. We had sign the contract that all our works belong to school when we were. I have known there some teachers keep student’s idea become their own…

If you have the love and obviously talent you can!
Good animation takes countless time and effort.
Be consistant do not drift in to other things in that area
You can professionalize abything if you just keep on keeping on!

Goodluck, animation is good fun work
bringin life to a character is certainlya great feeling of giving birth.

Are any other christians pursuing our Jewish roots?
I have spent the whole year of 09 understanding that the we are the stranger refered to in Gen 12:38," and a mixed multitudewent up also with them" ( when they left egypt) and 12: 48," and when the stranger will keep the passover He shall be as one that is born in the land 49 One law shall be to him that is homeborn and for the stranger. The Gentiles (any non-jew or non-muslim) are the stranger. Christians are Jew wanna bees and God is going to let us in on their blessing according to Paulie. Are you searching for the midpoint between Jewish and Christian?

be warned, such study leads away from mainstream christianity … all the way to what would be called heresy by most christians

yet, you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free …

from all religious tradition…

No. Christians are not Jewish "wannabes". I am content to be a born again believer in Christ.
Esther | Jan 16, 2010

The important thing for Christians to understand about Judaism is that the Jewish Messiah has absolutely nothing to do with getting people into heaven. He is a mortal man who will rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem and bring an era of peace to the world. He is NOT to be worshipped. There is no hell in Jewish belief, so there is nothing to be saved from except earthly persecution. Repeat — the purpose of the Jewish Messiah is to save the Jewish people from earthly persecution. Is that a hard concept to understand?

Whatever Jesus may be, he is NOT the Jewish Messiah. None of the ideas attributed to him are original with him. Paul preached a false and pagan idea to gentiles who did not know the difference. Today’s Christians are spiritual descendants from those gentiles.

If Judasim is right, then Christianity is wrong.
If Judaism is wrong, then Christianity has no basis to exist.

If a Christian properly learns enough about Judaism, they will realize that Jesus is a false idol and drop Christianity and become a Noahide. There is no midpoint between Judaism and Christianity.
I just wish Jewish organizations would stop suing towns in America, trying to get rid of our Christmas decorations and symbols. I wonder how they would like it if Christians started doing that to their menorahs?
Grafted in, I am!

I love learning of the Jewish culture, and it certainly helps to understand the Gospel and the epistles if you have an understanding of the Jewish roots. There is so much that seems to bring understanding through the backdoor as well. It is only after understanding something in the gospels that the types and shadows of the OT become clear!

A peculiar people, we are.

Teaching that comes through Messianic Jews has been the most helpful for me. However, I am not looking for a midpoint between Jewish and Christian, I am looking for all things that bind us together into one sheepfold.

answer: Christian beliefs are incompatible with Jewish ones. There is no middle ground. They are on separate roads.

I have always been interested in Judaism, not to convert, but to understand the faith of my Savior. What few people recognize is that Jesus Christ was first and foremost a Jew. I believe in the Abrahamic covenant,, the right of Israel to exist. "And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God." (Genesis 17: 7, "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." (Genesis 12:3)

I see no harm in understanding Judaism, especially how it relates to Christianity. According to the apostle Paul in Romans 11:17-21 tell us, "If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, do not boast over those branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in." Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid. For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either."

behold He cometh

Plot: Set in London, England, good Samaritan Dan Wolf (Jude Law), a struggling writer, takes Alice Ayres (Natalie Portman), a shady young woman and part-time stripper, to the hospital when she’s hit by a car, and they fall in love. One year later, Dan meets photographer Anna Cameron (Julie Roberts) and tries to pick her up, but she rebuffs him. In revenge, Dan sets Anna up for an embarrassing encounter with sex-addicted dermatologist Larry Bagley (Clive Owen), but the two end up seeing each other. Then another year later, Dan and Anna begin an affair of their own, and relationships between the four collapse. Over the next year, all of them become obsessed with hurting each other and wreak some heavy emotional damage. Will any of them be strong enough to put this destructive sequence of events to a stop?

How do I change my display colors back?
I was playing Starcraft on my laptop and my battery died mid-game. Now the only thing that looks normal on my computer is Starcraft! Everything else is either too dim or too bright and the colors are all fluorescent on videos.
It’s strange, because sometimes Starcraft caused this problem during the game, in which case I saved my game, closed the program then opened it again and the problem was fixed: No more hot pink, fluorescent green and snow white. It’s like the mirror problem. Now my normal everyday display is doing what Starcraft sometimes did, while the game looks normal.
Please help.

Girls-please tell me if this sounds good to you?
Im in college and there is this girl that i really like. Since the beginning of the school year we’ve gotten to know each other pretty well. We text each other, we talk at school, walk to classes together, etc. She probably knows that I like her because for her 21st birthday I gave her a rose and some chocolates in a spongebob squarepants bag (because I know that she likes spongebob). I gave it to her at the end of the day when I walked to her car with her. I’ve never been in a relationship before. Anyways, I plan to ask her on a formal date very soon. There may be one problem: another guy may be trying to move in on her. Honestly, I’m probably overreacting. I think that he invited her to his bday party because they exchanged numbers the other day and I saw that his bday was coming up. He invited me too, but I don’t know him well enough so I didn’t go-plus I was helping at my church anyway. The reason he asked her after class was because she doesn’t have a facebook. Plus, if they just exchanged numbers 3 days ago wouldn’t that be a little soon? I know too that he was in a pretty strong relationship up until about 2 months ago-is that enough time for him to move on and be ready to date again-remember I’m kinda new to this. Again, I’m probably overreacting (we texted a few hours ago and she didnt mention the party, but then again I didn’t ask about it or anything so idk).

Anyways, I kinda planned on asking her for a date on this tuesday. Here’s how I planned to ask her:
At the end of the day as we walk to our parking lot together (which we always do) I could get her to laugh (something that I can do no problem) and then tell her how beautiful she is, especially when she smiles (which is very, very true). Then if she reacts well to that I could say something like: "you know, I’m really glad that you came to school here. I really like you and I was wondering if you would like to go out with me sometime…..like on a date". Would that be good? I was gonna call her and ask her if we could get together tomorrow because we don’t have class tomorrow but then I couldn’t compliment her. Do you think that I’m on the right track? If she doesn’t want to date me then I would really like to remain friends with her, so if you think that I should avoid any words or anything please let me know!!! Serious answers only please!!

Oh-and as for what to do on a date if she says yes I was thinking maybe dinner and a movie or perhaps dinner and ice skating (i havent done that in a while plus i think it would be fun to do together) or maybe both? Any other ideas are more than welcome. Thanks!

go w/ dinner n the rest will b fine good luck!!!!!!

That sounds good to me your a good guy if she doesn’t recognize that shes not worth it
khoobsooratkuriblackhairgirl | Jan 18, 2010

YO go ahead son ask her and if she says no … there are more girls in the world!!!
bandmart | Jan 18, 2010

Gosh, everything you just said sonds so cute!! Go for it!! And don’t worry about this other guy, because if she likes you, she’ll go out with you.
cedartree | Jan 18, 2010

Ask her to go skating. BUT DO NOT practice a speech first. Play it cool, man. Bring it up as if you JUST thought of it. No need to tell her she’s beautiful right away. You might act like ALL the girls you know are beautiful. If you act like a dork, she’ll sense it.
Christopher J | Jan 18, 2010

Aww that is so sweet. Theres hardly any guys that are romantic anymore, so I say YES to your idea of asking her out. And as for the date part, I think that dinner and ice skating would be good, that way you’ll be sure to have fun, and girls love to get dressed up in hat and scarves anyways
Good luck!!
Kylie | Jan 18, 2010

i totally love your idea ask her just like that only thing is i wouldn’t just pop out you look really beautiful. beautiful might be too strong if you don’t know how she feels about you. i would say pretty instead same compliment but not so strong. and if she says yes i would give her both of your ideas and ask which she would prefer. other then that i think she will love it. and you. good luck. will be praying it works out.
Lauren | Jan 18, 2010

you sound like a really sweet guy and i really hope everything works out!!!
i think that sounds good, but only you know what is best because only you know this girl
Christine Joy | Jan 18, 2010

				AWWW YOU SOUND SUPER SWEET…
WELL THAT SOUNDS GOOD, JUST DONT OVER DUE THE COMPIMENTS BECAUSE SOMETIMES GIRLS DONT BELIEVE THEM… AND AS FOR THE DATE. YOU SHOULD ASK HER WHAT SHE WANTS TO DO FIRST. AND IF SHE SAYS SHE DOESNT KNOW THEN JUST SUGGEST UR PLAN. AND AS FOR THAT OTHER GUY. DONT WORRY. YOU’VE BEEN HER PAL FOR A WHILE SO SHE WILL TOTALY PIK U FIRST .
dianne | Jan 18, 2010

You are definitely on the right track.. It sounds like she may be interested in you too. Any of the ideas above sound amazing. You seem like such a sweet guy and if she doesn’t see that then its her loss. Wish you the best. Theres always other fish in the sea
In_Fates_Hands | Jan 18, 2010

You are defiantly on the right track. You should go skating and to the movies, i think. Seems like she really likes you.
Good Luck:)
Answer mine please?
Lori | Jan 18, 2010

Of course you should ask her on a proper date – if you don’t you’ll regret it, whatever the outcome! You sound like a really lovely and thoughtful young man but don’t let your natural sensitivity stand in the way of asking this girl out. Also, I would say is don’t hang around too long! I’m a lot older than you and have seen many man and women "miss the boat" because they held back a little too long.

Go for it. Ice skating and something to eat after sounds great. Have fun and good luck!
Suzie
slevy64 | Jan 18, 2010

I would definitely do the ice skating thing. It would be fun and you would get a chance to hold her hand if she wasn’t a good skater. You sound like a really sweet and genuine guy, just be yourself. I would say that she has a beautiful smile, not that she is beautiful – if she doesn’t like you she may feel uncomfortable.
KAT | Jan 18, 2010

Dang you honestly make me look bad when you do stuff like that. I know I’m a guy, but I think that that would work so well. I dont know maybe im wrong, but that sounds crazy good
Stephen W | Jan 18, 2010

Most of your idea sounds great, though I personally do NOT condone the dinner-and-a-movie style first date. Sure, dinner is great, but honestly, on a first date, a movie is pretty much just sitting awkwardly in the dark. You don’t really get a chance to know each other. On our first date, my boyfriend took me bowling. I used to HATE bowling, but it was so much fun (even thought I was sooo nervous) to get to know him that I would do it again any day. So, personally, I think ice skating sounds like a better idea, but let her know beforehand that’s what you’ll be doing because the rinks are cold and she needs to wear pants.
BeautifulGirl | Jan 18, 2010

the ice skating sounds good its different but in a good way

just don’t do that if you fall a lot you’ll look bad and you don’t want to make a bad impression on her on the first date

hope it works out =)
ysr37 | Jan 18, 2010

I wouldnt have such a script to follow because sure enough, it wont go the way you plan, and then you’ll be left scrambling with what to do next. That’s how life goes. I wouldnt go full on with the compliments either. I would just say , hey, I think you’re really funny and I would love to take you out on tues, maybe to a movie or dinner or something. Keep it simple. You better move fast though, because she might think your the one that isnt interested, and that’s why she’s moving forward without you.
nuhahnoway | Jan 18, 2010

awww everything about this is so cute!!! i think dinner and ice-skating is a great idea. don’t practice anything though. let it come from your heart not a peice of paper
punk_princess95 | Jan 18, 2010

First of all, you’re doing good for your supposed first relationship, and if she’s worth it then there’s absolutely no harm in trying. It’s never ever good to assume, assumptions are the mother of all problems believe me. If you think she’s into you then she probably is, I mean the other guy just came into this whole thing and well he invited her to his party yeah, but he didn’t do anything for her bday like you did, get me? so she’s already got you on her mind because of the sweet thought. Whoever said don’t practice a speech, listen to them, you do nottt want to practice or even think of one because you WILL stumble and fall over your words trying to come out, they wont. just be casual, I’d think ice skating is more of a second date thing to keep her interested, so for sure dinner and a movie. try to get a funny movie so it doesn’t look like your trying to be too forward like with a romantic one, and horror’s just going to say I want you close to me, unless that’s what your going for. This is all instinct, nobody can really help because it will all come naturally, be yourself, thats the real advice.
Cassaundra | Jan 18, 2010

Say something like "Hey are you free tuesday? I was wondering if you wanted to get a bite of pizza at eight." If she asks if its as a date, then say "For me, yes, for you…..?" or something along those lines. If she says no, then just say okay and change the subject, not too quickly, though.

Try to ignore the word love and staring straight into her eyes, in case she doesn’t feel the same way.

Go somewhere casual like for a pizza since this is your first date. Later go for a walk in the park or around the block. Scientific results say that adrenaline can cause the feeling of love.

Oh, and the whole ‘other guy’ thing your talking about, your definitely over reacting.
